This has been a great season for the goldfinch. The charms can be up to fifty strong and they chatter in the air while dipping and diving. With no shortage of seed they do seem to be leading a charmed life and brighten even the dullest day with a splash of colour. Teazels are spiky old things but this goldfinch is going to have a bash at extracting the seed.
